I decided to share another of theChristmas cards from my July class. This one I designed based on a sketch I found online. (Sketches can be a great way to boost your creativity!) I think Icase'd someone's use of the sketch, actually, changing colors and making it my own. That's what it's all about, stampers! Make it easy on yourself. :-)

Christmas Card Class

I'm doing a monthly Christmas Stamp-A-Stack. We stamp on the third Thursday of each month.You can  click here for more info. This was one of the cards for the July class:

I think Lovely as a Tree may be the oldest stamp set in the catalog.  It's versatile and the art is a classic style that remains relevant. You can't see the sparkle in this photo, but I sprayed the image layer with Smooch Spritz. It's lovely in person.

Quick and Easy

That's what cards for my monthly card class need to be. We make twelve cards, 3 each of four designs. Yesterday you saw two. Here are the others we did Monday evening:

For the man in your life. We used Kraft (now called Crumb Cake - yum! And we have matching ink!), Very Vanilla and Soft Suede card stocks and Soft Suede ink. The stamp set is Birthday Bliss. We also used the wide oval punch (now the extra large oval) and the ovals die for the Big Shot. The distressing tool on the Cutter Kit helped rough up the Soft Suede oval and the bottom edge of the card front.

I used a sketch for this one, but I don't remember where I saw it. Here you have Bashful Blue and Whisper White card stocks; Bashful Blue ink; Eastern Blooms and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets; Whisper White taffeta; Word Window and Modern Label punches; Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot, and Dimensionals.

A Fun Evening

Last Thursday evening I got to spend time with some ladies from North Pointe Church in Arlington. We made some fun Valentine projects!

I love this one with kind of a shabby chic feel. We used the Holiday Best stamp set (level 1 hostess set), Chocolate Chip, Kraft and Very Vanilla card stocks, Bella Bleu Designer Series Papers, Chocolate Chip grosgrain, scallop oval, wide oval and eyelet border punches, and the Top Note die for the Big Shot. This card was also a project for stamp club in January.

This card uses the Well Scripted stamp set and the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder from the Occasions mini catalog. Card stocks are Kraft, Soft Suede, and Whisper White. We sponged all of the pieces with Soft Suede ink. Notice the new Scallop Trim Border Punch? I love it! And it is a Sale-A-Bration item! Now through March, you can earn it for free with a $50 order. (Or there are stamp sets to choose from as well.) There is a coordinating corner punch in the Occasions mini that you should probably get as part of your $50. :-) I did, and I am oh so glad! Come back tomorrow for a look at using the two punches together.

Our third project was this oh-too-cute box. We used the match box die for the Big Shot, but instead of making the cover slide off, we turned it into a lid that opens:

That's Ghirardelli chocolate wrapped with the Sending Love Specialty papers from the Occasions mini. Oh my, but this paper is nice! It is a little heavier than our other papers and has glitter on several of the designs! The colors work well for Valentine projects, but the designs make it great for other things as well - it's not hearts, so don't hesitate to get it even after Feb. 14. I promise you will love this paper!

It's Coaster Time

If you are in need of a last minute Christmas gift, let me suggest a set of tile coasters!

I love all of these designs. I think this is one of my all-time favorite projects. Quick and easy but a big wow for the recipient.

Jennifer's Card Class

I did a class for Jennifer and some of her friends this past Saturday. We had a great time! Cathy even blogged about it! What fun! We made a set of four cards and a box to put them in.

We used Kraft, Bordering Blue, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla card stocks, Bella Bleu Designer Series Paper, Chocolate Chip Classic ink, Lovely Letters, Sincere Salutations and Fresh Cuts stamp sets, oval and square punches, scallop edge punch, Kraft and Chocolate Chip taffeta, Build-a-Brad, jumbo eyelets, mini library clips, and the Big Shot with the Perfect Details Texturz Plate.

The consensus was that this would make a great gift - but no one really wanted to part with theirs. :-) We may just have to do it again.

Stamp Camp Time

I'm planning a stamp camp! I am really excited about the projects we will be doing. October 3rd is World Card Making Day, so we will be focusing on cards. You can click on Stamping Extravaganza '09 in the right hand column to get all the details and register. For the October 3rd event, I will be in Topeka, KS with many of my downline and sideline. I am looking forward to spending the day with all of my stamping friends!

Back to School Time

I'm always a little sad to see summer end, but a little excited about the start of school. I love school supplies and office supplies, getting organized. I've been wanting to start having some kid's classes, so I thought this would be the perfect time.

We will be making an altered note book, a pen, a bag tag, and a little box for paper clips (or whatever you want to put in it).

Stamp choices will include the Circle Circus set, Just Soccer, and Just Basketball. And while I originally planned this for kids, I think it would be great to send to a college student or have for a teacher as a first day of school gift. So this class will be for kids of all ages - those aged 6-8 will need a parent to stay with them. Those 9 and up may be dropped off - or just drive yourself! :-)

WOW Bible Study

I have been missing my Bible study. I do so much better when I am in a group study (read accountability!). Since I started teaching preschool last year, I have not been in an organized study. And I know a lot of ladies' groups stop for the summer. So, when I saw this study, I knew it was something I wanted to offer.
