This is a fun project that Shelli Gardner (co-founder and CEO of Stampin' Up!) demonstrated at convention this year. I included the supplies for this ornament with this month's Stamps in the Mail projects, but decided I would share instructions with everyone.
You will need:
12 (1"X6") strips of Creepy Crawly Designer Series Paper
Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie & Wild Wasabi card stock
1 3/8" circle, 1" circle, 5-Petal Flower, and Scallop Circle punches
Crop-A-Dile
Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Ribbon (about 18")
Wild Wasabi and Basic Black stamp pads
Pumpkin Pie marker and blender pen
Crafter's Tool Kit
Pop-Up Glue Dots
Snail Adhesive
2-Way Glue Pen & Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
Use the 1/8" punch on the Crop-A-Dile to punch both ends of your paper. You can do the whole stack all at once! Gotta love the Crop-A-Dile!
Tie a knot about two or three inches from the end of your ribbon.
Thread both ends of your paper strips onto the ribbon. If you trim your ribbon to a sharp point on, it will be easy to do.
Fan out your strips of paper.
Punch the 5-Petal Flower out of Wild Wasabi card stock. Wad it up, flatten it out, and punch a hole in the center with the Crop-A-Dile.
Thread your leaves onto the ribbon at the top of your pumpkin.
Create a loop in the ribbon, and tie a slip knot.
Set your pumpkin aside.
Use your Pumpkin Pie marker to ink just the pumpkin on your stamp. Since there are no markers in the In Colors, use your blender pen and Wild Wasabi pad to color the leaves on your stamp.
Huff on your stamp to moisten the marker ink; stamp on Whisper White card stock.
Use Basic Black ink to stamp the entire image on Pumpkin Pie card stock. You will want two of each image. I used the glue pen and dazzling diamonds on the leaves to add a little sparkle.
Use the 1" circle punch on the Whisper White images. Use the 1 3/8" circle punch on the Pumpkin Pie images. You will also want to punch two scallop circles from Wild Wasabi card stock. For an added detail, I used the paper piercing tool on each scallop.
Use Snail to layer your circles as shown. I lined my scallop circles up with the grids on my paper to make sure the scallops would match with the pumpkins both right side up.
Put two Pop-Up Glue Dots on the back of one scallop circle.
Making sure your pumpkin image is facing the right side direction, place the end of your ribbon over the glue dots.
Matching the scalloped edges, place your second scalloped circle piece on the other side of the ribbon.Your glue dots will hold the ribbon in place and will hold the circles together.
Tada!
Now it's time to repeat the process so you can decorate for the holidays. I can't wait to hang these on my banister!
