I was invited to a wedding shower yesterday. When I first started thinking about my stamp options, I drew a blank. So many of my stamps have retired, and I put them away. But then I came to the Summer by the Sea set. You won't find it in the current catalog, but it is on the dormant list and available to purchase.
I decided that this image would work beautifully for a wedding shower. I stamped in Basic Brown on Confetti White card stock and watercolored with the Watercolor Wonder Crayons and the AquaPainter. I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to get the greeting to fit in the rectangular hodgepodge hardware. I don't have a talent for watercoloring, but the AuqaPainter makes it so that I'm not embarrassed to give a watercolored project to someone!
Next, I needed a gift bag, so I pulled out a plain white one and dressed it up a little.
The DSP I used on the bag is retired, but the colors coordinated perfectly with the card I had done. I love it when things fall together like that! And this bag was a great way to use up some of my scraps. I cut a piece of Mellow Moss card stock to cover the side of the bag, and covered it with my background papers. If I had been limited to smaller scraps, I could have done more of a patchwork look. The Chocolate satin ribbon comes in the package of Theater Ribbon Originals.
I wasn't able to attend the shower yesterday (got a last minute soccer practice notice!), but I sent it along with a friend. Sure hope the bride-to-be enjoyed receiving it as much as I enjoyed making it. :-)
